Long time no LJ

I would really like to start blogging on a regular basis, but as you can see, I'm not doing so well yet.  I have been pouring over quilting and sewing blogs lately and LOVE THEM.  I would rather read theirs than write my own!

I just wanted to post a recent note in case anyone sees me out there commenting on someone else's blog and clicks my LJ link.  Yes, I am still alive.  Still wrangling 3 small children and keeping overly busy.

I will get around to blogging someday soon and I look forward to posting some more funny stories about the kids, pictures of finished quilting projects and anything else I come across to share.  Thanks for reading!

Funny Jamie

I wanted to record something hilarious going on right now.  Jamie's favorite word  is "dreadful!".  It is hilarious to hear this word come out of any three-year-old's mouth but he always makes it even funnier with the context.

Tonight at dinner we were playing the age-old game of "eat this veggie and then you can have another roll".  He refused and said he was finished.  He left the table, threw himself on the sofa and said "But I DO want another roll.  Oh, DREADFUL!"

It just kills me.  Andrew and I can't help but crack up when he says it.  He is also spouting off the potty talk like a sailor.  After two unsuccessful attempts to correct the behavior with soap in the mouth, I finally resorted to Tabasco.  Oh, dreadful!

Uh, Dieting.

Ugh how I wish reaching and maintaining a healthy weight was easy!  I joined Weight Watchers on Jan. 18 this year and have lost a grand total of 18 lbs in 17 weeks.  Wahoo.  Not that I'm not ecstatic about being almost 20 lbs lighter than I was a the beginning of the year, but c'mon people!  Could it go a little faster please?  Could it maybe not be a struggle EVERY. SINGLE. DAY?

Ok, so today I'm on track to stay within my points allowance of 25..  Breakfast of nutritionist-recommended protein shake concoction (4 pts), no snack (well, maybe a graham cracker segment while feeding them to Baby, oh and maybe a small piece of baguette and olive oil for tasting purposes at Whole Foods...), lunch of a plain chicken taco (4 pts) and some chips (4 pts).  A snack of popcorn (3 pts), raspberries (1 pt) and almonds (3 pts).  Now dinner of artichoke (0 pts), dressing (2 pts), noodles (5 pts) and another protein shake (4 pts).  So where am I?  A total of 30 pts.  What?  But I was doing so well...

And the day is not over yet.  DH has tennis practice so I am left with 3 street urchins to wrangle, pj, and get to bed.  Annnndddd, it's bath night.  Lovely.

That will definitely necessitate a WW ice cream sandwich.  Natch.

In related news, today brought the much-anticipated arrival of the new Wii Fit Board.  I set it up and began the exciting journey to a lower BMI.  Wait a minute, it takes forever to get through all of the "suggestions".  As if I've never played the Wii before.  As if I've never exercised before.  As if I can't figure it out as I go along (hello, one of the activities is hula hoop.  Do I really need a detailed tutorial?).

I like it though.  Unfortunately, I will have to tie my kids up in the corner to get my fair share of Wii time.  Lego Star Wars has a revered spot in our family life and living room.  Mommy has to sneak her Wii time in after they are safely tucked away for the night.  Last night it was hard to get my groove on to Dance, Dance Revolution at 9pm.  Am I really going to have to set my alarm clock for 6am to do Wii Yoga and Wii running?

Off to comfort crying baby.
